			Valve Balance

This proceedure will allow you to balance the 4 stage
valves in a multiple valve configuration.

Pilot pressure only:
____________________

1. Third stage balance - match third stage command and feedback.

	A. Monitor the third stage command and feedback.

	B. Adjust the balance slider on the third stage valve
driver window to make command and feedback equal.

2. Fourth stage balance - match fourth stage command and feedback.

	A. Monitor the fourth stage command and feedback.

	B. Adjust the third stage Spool zero slider on the third
stage valve driver window to make command and feedback
	   equal.

Disable the B valves with the 24 volt soliniod cable on both actuators.
Main controller (TVC Controller Panel "Reset") integrator off. Fourth stage integrator ("Reset" on the X-WA Servovalve Controller) may be on or off.
Force balance P and I gains to zero.
Pilot pressure:
Main pressure to about 500 PSI:
_______________________________________________________________________

3. Actuator balance - match actuator command and feedback and
achieve zero force in the appossing actuators.

	A. On the fourth stage controller window for the east A valve
disable the valve. This will remove the valve from the
controller and zero its command. Monitor the forces for X west
and X east. Adjust the LVDT zero on the east A valve controller
window to zero the actuator forces. If you leave the integrators
on for the fourth stage, you will need to make this ajustment
slowly to allow the integrators to return to zero.
Enable the east A valve. This will return the valves input to
	   the X controller.

	B. On the fourth stage controller window for the west A valve
disable the valve. This will remove the valve from the
controller and zero its command. Monitor the forces for X west
and X east. Adjust the LVDT zero on the west A valve controller
window to zero the actuator forces. If you leave the integrators
on for the fourth stage, you will need to make this ajustment
slowly to allow the integrators to return to zero.
Enable the west A valve. This will return the valves input to
	   the X controller.

	C. Turn off main pressure and move the 24 volt disalbe cables to
the east and west A valves. Main presure back to about 500 PSI.

	D. Do step A for the east B valve.

	E. Do step B for the west B valve.

	F. Main pressure off. Remove 24 volt disable cable from the east
and west A valves. When you active main pressure you should
have actuator displacement command feedback equal and the
acuator forces should be small. Activate actuator controller
	   integrator. Reactive force balance gains.
